  The Chapel of Peace
West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, xPA
                        June 2001
West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd is where Dawn's paternal Great Grandparents and Grandparents are buried.  The cemetery is huge and rolling, like a giant park, and also houses an extremely haunted chapel, where there exists many rooms with many floor-to-ceiling shelves of urns, or "cremains", as the staff cleverly refers to them.

Whenever Michael and I have made forays into this building, the atmosphere of depression and oppression is very overwhelming, to the point where it feels as though a vice is drawing tighter and tighter on the sides of our heads.  One can sit in a pew and watch the "light show" going on behind the pulpit.  There was literally some kind of manifestation going on every second, or two.

This is not a happy building.  Right before this photo was taken, Michael saw a flesh-colored apparition of an adolescent boy peering excitedly around a corner.  This was directly after I asked if anyone wanted to pose for a photo.

Apparently, he wanted to pose with me.  In this B&W infra-red pic that I tinted a bit, there is Dawn lounging in one of the chairs by a window.  Directly behind is a very large young face, the chin ending in a point down in the lower left hand side of the picture.  There is the faint suggestion of a nose and mouth, as though someone pulled plastic tightly over his features.  There are vague suggestions of eyes, too. The hairline can be seen almost to where the top of Dawn's head is.

There were supposed to be chairs directly behind me.  When I couldn't find them, that is when I saw the face.
