Visitations....sometimes I question it myself. Sometimes I wonder if it is my own subconscious thought projection. I don't think about the paranormal or ghosts all the time, but sometimes you have to take pause and wonder. Just like you did.
A few years ago I was introduced to the pendulum and immediately I was quite good at it. I don't even have to ask it just starts to swinging the second I pick it up. I don't do this often because it falls under the Ouija board rules. So anyhow, my point here is that I wonder if it is just me, or something real from the otherside. I wish there was a way to test this out but I don't think there is. Is it my own magnetism that causes the thing to swing and spell or is it a spirit trying to talk from the other side?

The pendulum thing is being activated by your subconscious mind and your autonomic system, which causes small rhythmic movements to occur in your body.
The ouija can be your autonomic system, too, but not always.

Mmylrkee - I may disappoint some of my more technically oriented colleauges but I absolutely believe it is possible for our loved ones to visit us from the other side. I will not overly expand on my reasons as they "appear" to be purely subjective but I am quite confident my Mother has made her presence known on multiple ocassions. I will say there have been enough repetitive, physical events, associated with these visits to objectively support my belief. Perhaps with time your impressions can be confirmed in much the same way - if not the experience will always be yours to reflect upon and enjoy.
CW this matter of the pendulum is highly reminiscent of the controversy surrounding dowsing rods. My first inclination is to simply relegate this phenomena to PK activity or as DL stated to autonomic responses. However, some interesting perspectives by a board member (Iowa Boy -I believe) concerning dowsing rods in an earlier thread leaves the question of alternate theories wide open.
As with rods this matter of the pendulum cannot be adequately addressed at this juncture so it belongs in the unknown file. This doesn't mean it is irrelevant or should be dismissed it simply means there is no way to really know - YET.

Perhaps there is a spirit trying to communicate with you. However, in my personal experience, spirits who want to get your attention will engage in other, less ambiguous and iffy methods to get your attention.
Ron brought up a good comparison between dowsing rods and the pendulum, however I feel that the two are essentially different.
As far as I know, dowsing rods only start coming to life when the user has found a source of water, or whatever, so I don't think it is simply a matter of the autonomic system. I DO think the subconscious comes into play, however.
Pendulums start right up, however and keep on going, to my understanding...at least that is what happens when I do it. Anyway, I always try to maintain a degree of skepticism regarding stuff like this, although I am rather fascinated with the act of dowsing.

I find many people miss the point about Ouija boards, dowsing rods, pendulums, etc. Of COURSE it is you causing the actions on the device. The point is it's under the DIRECTION of a spirit that the movements/reactions occur. Some try to discredit the devices because they believe it's the medium (user) causing the device to react. On the contrary, to me this simply reinforces the strong interrelation between spirit and medium that occurs during a session and the evidence that the phenomenon is, in fact, real.
Just my opinion, folks!

You don't have any argument from me, although I do tend to question the pendulum thing on a certain level. Before I wrote this post, I began dangling CD headphones by their wire. After the headphones stopped spinning in order to de-tangle the wire they are attached to, I steadied it with my hand.
Very quickly the headphones started swinging back and fourth, gently. This movement continued for as long as I dangled them, even though I was taking care to keep my arm "still".
I think the "pendulum" was reacting to my autonomic responses, at that point.
NOW......if the headphones had started increasing the arc of its swing, and I was keeping my arm still and there was no Earthquake... or if they began moving in circles, etc., then I would say there was definitely something strange happening.
I am not a debunker. After all, my darling husband and I are the ones who are regularly referring to the 5 spirits we have who guard us.
Also, I like to hear opinions,because they generate discussion....as long as one does not confuse them with fact.

GS your point is well made and I agree with your premise whereby we hold the equipment or devices harmless - for now. However this leads to an expanded question concerning all equipment such as EMF, Thermal, Dowsing Rods, Pendulums, etc... The point that should be made here is the PK theory or other subconscious explanations are at this juncture no less accurate than the one put forward by proponets of these devices. The explanation you have put forth leaves me with a great many questions; are the rods, pendulums, etc the catalyst for the phenomena or is it the user - is it both? If the device is the catalyst then should we attribute this to the metallic properties or size or??? If the person is the catalyst then why would we need any of these devices at all - should we not instead concentrate our efforts on becoming more sensitive and forget about the devices? If it is both then perhaps we can attribute this to the integration of medium and spirit concept you mentioned.
I don't have the answer and I am relatively certain no one else does either. Perhaps for the time being the best thing we can say about pendulums, dowsing rods, EMF detectors, Thermal Detectors, etc... is one cannot be considered more or less valid than the other. Therefore we owe it to ourselves and those within the field to simply keep an open yet skeptical mind on the subject. Hopefully the data will eventually allow for conclusions - we will see!

Very interesting arguements. I think the pendulum, dowsing rods, Ouija boards etc..will remain in the "unknown files" until someone figures out what and where exactly is the spirit world and how are we connected to it.
How about if the pendulum swings in circles and back and forth so hard that it almost swings up and around? In this particular case I know I have a spirit trying to tell me something. There are two of them, an adult and a child. Unfortunately, I can't help the situation because I don't want to be viewed as a complete and utter lunatic.

If this is the experience you had with a pendulum, then I take back the autonomic response explanation, at least for your situation. I have 3 questions for you:
1.) Are these spirits in your home?
2.) Do you mean helping the spirits when you say "help the situation"?

Unless something contains an agent that actually helps to focus, detect or conduct electromagnetic energy, I honestly do think that 9/10ths of what we perceive and accomplish, paranormally speaking is with our minds and our minds alone.
You asked the question that if it is all us, then why do we need all this other stuff?
Aside from what I stated above regarding certain equipment, many people feel they need the paraphernalia as something to focus their minds on. The device many times gives people the confidence to perceive, because they feel they don't have the power to do it by themselves.
Unfortunately, this gives rise to the belief that it is the "things" that have the power and not us humans.
Yes, it would be nice to have people learn to get in touch with their own powers. Being able to sense a spirit with no EMF detector is far superior, obviously, because the gadget can't read emotions or pick up thoughts.
But even getting people to accept the importance of developing these skills takes time and you'd have to also wade through VERY entrenched belief systems.

The spirits are in my home. They have followed me from another apartment to this one. They will not leave me be to my own peace basically.
Helping the situation: The situation is this: the child was murdered, the child wants someone to find her. The child has told me exactly where her remains are. The story that is told has never changed once. Not even one letter.
Looking like a lunatic: Law enforcement. If I were to tell them what I have been told in this manner they would view me as a nutcase. If I went out on my own and found the remains, I would have no explanation for being in that particular spot. Except the spirit told me. Yeah, that would go over real well. So therefore I am unable to help her and I will be forever plagued with her presence because of it. The adult who is with her is more or less her "caretaker" friend in the spirit world.
I have tried several different methods to rid myself of her but to no end. She is quite persistent in her request. ::sigh:: but what can ya do?

Wait a minute! This is pretty fascinating stuff, and I don't mean to make light of your predicament!
Has this child been recently murdered? You mentioned law enforcement people. True, the statute of limitations never runs out on murder, but the police would not be working on a case if the perpetrator has died of old age, if nothing else.
Don't be so sure they will see you as a lunatic. They don't generally like to admit it, but police forces hire psychics all the time to locate missing persons, bodies, whatever.
If you truly DO know where this poor child is buried, go in and tell them that you are a psychic and you saw it in a vision, or whatever. They will stop laughing once they dig up the evidence and find that you are correct.
Have you yourself visited this burial site? Have you seen it for yourself, or is it too far away? If you can reach this place yourself, you can make up a story for being there, uncover the remains,(unless it is in someone's house) go to the police and tell them you found them by accident, i.e. you saw a hand sticking up out of the ground or something.
Just my opinion, but don't you think the resolution to this terrible tragedy, i.e. the freeing of both the child and you is worth a little risk of face? I mean....who gives a flying @#%! what some narrow minded cops think?
And as I said above, they use psychics all the time, so many aren't that narrow minded at all.

Here's the thing about where she is buried. She mentioned several times the existence of clay dolls. At first I was thinking of Voodoo or something off the wall like that, when in fact she was speaking of dead people. She gets frustrated easily when you don't understand what she is trying to say. She can't spell for anything either which makes it all the more difficult. Do you know what a Stinser is? She expected me to know that. I didn't. I had no idea it is a man of the cloth. German I think. Anyway, she got kind of ticked off when I couldn't understand. I am thinking I should stop talking about this now. She is here. Everytime I talk about it she makes her presence known. She is not harmful at all.

You still have not answered my question regarding how recent this murder was.
What, exactly is this child doing to plague you? Is she appearing to you? Is she waking you up at night? Have you tried to comfort her and get her to move on? At this point, nothing short of comfort will free this child.
What about her guardian? Have you tried talking to this friend? Maybe the 2 of you can coax the girl to move on.
Why don't you write to the moderator of this board and tell him your predicament? If they are interested, maybe they will search the area and you can remain anonomous.
There are ways out of this situation, but first we need to talk about it and find out as much info as possible, if you are willing.

Yes the little girl who has been following me for the last 4 years is Jeanna North. She has told me on at least 14 different occassions exactly where she is. Not once ever changing her story. Baby Jane is with her.

I know. Let me tell you how I brought this all on myself, which in fact, in hindsight I did.
I was bored one night and decided. Hey, I wonder what a horey chart would say about the events surrounding the disapperance. So I did one. It confirmed many things that were known and probably not known.
I put the chart aside and did some for the days and week after. Very interesting stuff there. Icky, but interesting.
Then the dream came. It was weird. Very weird. It surrounded a green chair. Law enforcement and pictures. I would assume at some point they will find many pictures sown in the back of this chair. If the chair still exists.

So after the dream I began thinking about the situation. What really happened? I went to the library and didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. Maybe I was trying to validate what was happening.
Anyway, so I am now thinking about it. Considering my child advocacy in the first place I drew her to me. Or at least I think I did.
Now when I talk about a pendulum, I'm talking about the one I made of a piece of string and a generator crystal. No metal involved.
One night I decided that I would try out this whole pendulum theory thing to see if it really worked. So there I was with a piece of paper and a homemade pendulum. Next thing I know I am hearing the whole story very quickly.

In the dream the detective who wears a suit says, "Jesus Christ the guy was a pornographer." or something like that. There are pictures of more than just Jeanna and I have a sneaking feeling these pictures have been sold to someone in California or in the Southwest. Or at least the negatives. We are talking about hundreds of pictures that just fell out of the back of the chair and spilled out at the feet of the officers. JNs pictures were on the top of the pile. So this tells me something else. If for some bizarre reason of fate, the dream is true someone here in Fargo or the near vicinity had to have developed the films. Now perhaps this person has a darkroom in which to do this without getting caught or maybe it was the creep himself. I don't know.

Somehow, the authorities really DO need to find out where Jeanna North is buried, even if you call the police and leave anonymous messages.
Since this case was not well publicized around here, I am in the dark about a few things.
Who is Baby Jane?
I can surmise the rest, and at least this creep has been apprehended! Also, if poor Jeanna has a family, they need to know where she is for the sake of closure. So, if she has anyone in the world who cares about her, this little girl will not be the only one you are helping.
After I read your self-introduction on another thread, I knew that Jeanna had come to you because of your empathy for children. Don't be too hard on yourself for doing something that you thought was thoughtless.
One more thing.....
What the blank was that last paragraph? Was that Jeanna coming through? It is a bit garbled, but am I correct in assuming that "lobes" are earlobes and "antle" is mantle? Was she mutilated? Who is "they"?

You are correct in the last paragraph being Jeanna and Baby Jane talking together they always do.
Baby Jane came to me first. Or at least introduced herself to me first. She's really a nice "person". She cares a great deal about Jeanna and keeps her from harm. Which is a whole other conversation on the make up of the spirit world don't you think? Baby Jane is an older woman who must have been at least 50 when she passed over. She's been with Jeanna since two days after. That's what she tells me anyway. But to us, what is two spirit days?
I didn't answer you on how this child plagues me. She has never "appeared" to me. She says she never will because she can't it is too frightening. Which I am not going to push the issue because she is probably right. She will make her presence known in the apartment by flicking the lights a little or by actually brushing past me. Or sometimes, I just know she or Baby Jane is here.
I have never claimed status as a psychic because I don't really know what all that encompasses. They don't just come at night either. That is what really kind of flaked me out in the beginning. I guess I even stereotype spirits sometimes. LOL
I know the flood of 1997 has had some phenomenal impact on her remains. This was indicated on the chart that "Kyle is in danger by flood." This was in the house of undoing. Considering the chart was done by planetary placements of 1993 it would have projected to the future from that date. The massive flood that we had that year did affect the area in which she claims her remains are.
Kyle Bell is at this moment still trying to get out of prison but I don't think he will with or without the body. Or, at least I hope he won't.

Thanks for explaining Baby Jane to me, as I was still not clear in the e-mail you sent me. It would seem that she is taking good care of Jeanna, and that it is Baby Jane who recognized your qualifications as someone who could help.
Is it too frightening to Jeanna to "appear", or is she considering your welfare, that you may be the one frightened? Just curious.
Thanks again for the info, and the flood certainly throws some light on the situation, as well.
As for Kyle Bell, I don't think he could get out of prison if the remains are evident. It is the absense of a body that makes things iffy. You know, Habeas Corpus, loosely translated "that you have the body".
The "no body, no crime" scenario could undo this whole thing.

Kyle Bell, from my understanding confessed to the crime. He is now trying to say that he confessed under duress I think. Either way he's a creep and should be locked up. But with my empathy towards children I suppose I would naturally think that. He was originally jailed for molesting another child, I am not exactly sure when he confessed to the crime. Before or after.
JN feels that it would be too frightening for me. Which she is right. I am not sure how it would happen or what it would look like, but I will just take her word for it.

That is what I figured, and it is very thoughtful of her. She may be disfigured, at this point, or perhaps her materialization would bring the reality of her and the situation smack into your face. She is correct.
I also figured that Kyle Bell would try to weasle out of this by saying he confessed under duress. He won't get out of it, though if even one lousy fingerprint or shard of DNA can be salvaged...doesn't matter how dessicated the corpse is.
I have a few theories that I will fill you in on off the board.

Think of the good that will come out of this, the family can get closure, you can help the poor soul and you can stop that creep from entering society and inflicting his pain on others again.
