A close-up of the sculpture shows that there seems to
be a mist around the left edge, near the top. Upon closer scrutiny, this edge seems to be missing, unlike the sculpture's right side, as you can see right through the "mist" to the trees beyond. This "mist" also is the same color as the stone of the monument, and is concentrated right around the one area that seems absent. There is also a very smooth transition between the cloud and the solid stone. It looked very much to us as though this sculpture was in the act of discorporating!
