Old Pine Street Cemetery
             Philadelphia, PA text.
The first apparitions photo we took (previous page) was photographed in the fall of 2000.  Recently, in March, 2001, when we were still working on this site, Michael and I took a trip back to Old Pine Street to check out who was buried under the stone where the apparition of the man appeared.

I had my camera, it had just gotten dark, and after we had written down the name and date of the oldest male member listed on the tombstone (the others were a young woman and children), I had this "feeling", and an urge to take yet another photo of the very same tombs.

To our surprise, this guy showed up!  He is a totally different presense than was previously manifesting.

You can see the back of a man's torso, with the left leg up. His arms seem to be in the process of materializing, because the left arm, at least, is darkened below the shoulder.  His shoulders are on a diagonal, and his right arm seems to be extended away from the camera and greatly foreshortened.  Hs head is faint, but there.   Also....he sure seems to be naked.

He seems to be showing up for our...or MY benefit, since I was the photographer; also since I was the one who got the "urge".  He could have been another person buried with the woman in the flat tomb in the foreground...or maybe not.  Maybe they are all just wandering the cemetery and decided to get in the shot...although the woman on the previous page DID seem to be rising up out of the flat tomb.

At any rate, this experience certainly defies the popular assumption that ghosts show up in their burial attire.  This was also a "respectable" cemetery, back then.  They wouldn't have thrown in naked executed criminals.
I guess you "wear" what you want.

CLOSE-UP
Upon further scrutiny of this photo, I couldn't help but notice that it seemed to be alive with other faces and figures!  I do not usually allow myself to be fooled by simulacra, however, there sure seems to be a man's face at the top of the tomb stone directly to the figure's left.   Also, a woman's face, long blonde hair and Raphaelesque, naked body seem to have formed in the small, illuminated tombstone to the direct right of the figure, and the tiny head of a baby boy (to the left of the figure's indistinct head) can be seen staring back in the direction of the camera.  You can even see light glinting in the child's hair. There are other faces, also....faces in figures, faces in the air...all too numerous to mention.lick here to add your text.
