Rittenhouse Square Photos
December 2001teext.
This is a close-up of the branches of a large tree, in Rittenhouse Square, that was hung with colorful electric lights. However, what is pictured here is undoubtedly electrical, in nature, but, these lights are not "physical". The long, thin violet-blue and white light in the center/ right with the red "cap", is split in the middle.
One may also notice that there is empty space between the bottom segment and the top of it; there is nothing holding the bottom segment "in place", so it is floating. The rest of these festive and whimsical lights also don't appear to be attached to any branches, and are resting at odd angles with the tree, clearly defying gravity.
These lights were not perpetrated by resident spirits of the park, but by our guides, who did it to entertain us. It was very nice of them!.
