The week after we rescued Elizabeth Short and the mysterious detective, Micahel poured through all the books, on the Black Dahlia, to see if he could get any feelings and flashes of intuition. I kept hearing the name "Sam" in the back of my head, but I was not sure. I just let it float there, but it kept coming back to me, accompanied by a feeling of approval.....that I was being congratulated.
Finally, toward the end of the week, Michael announced that he thought our detective was Detective Sergeant Harry Hansen, the man who headed up the entire Black Dahlia investigation. It felt right, to me, but I told Michael that I had been hearing the name "Sam" relentlessly.
He smiled and said "Sam Flowers was also a detective involved in the case!" I felt vindicated. I felt that Sam was talking to me, telling me what a great job we did, and he was happy that we finally helped poor Beth and poor Harry over.
So, I called "The Detective". He came in a flash, like he had been waiting in the wings, once again. Once he arrived, I said,
"Hello, Harry! Pleased to make your aquaintance. He was impressed that we intuited his name.
From then on in, both he AND Betty made regular appearances. Betty's orb color is opaque, grass green..."NOT black!" she joked. She is currently getting therapy, and has learned that many things that she did, in life, were wrong. She drops in on us, but she does not hang around, because she admitted to having spent most of her life sponging off of people. She now has her own place, Over There, in a "Hollywood" type of setting, and she is taking acting lessons from a man named Rupert, a Shakesperean actor whom I rescued from the Brady Theater in Tulsa, OK.
He told me that she is doing quite well. So, she is finally getting what she wants in the AFTERLIFE. She still visits, and has a special attachment to Michael. She likes to wear Gardenia perfume, when she is in his presence.
As for Harry, he liked hanging around our apartment. I would see him in the front hallway, where we have a portal, and he still models his suits for me.....some from the 50's, others more modern. He has agreat sense of style. There was a longing and a sadness in him, still, however. Since I felt a strong connection to him, and was TOLD by Isabelle that I did, I asked Harry if he wanted to be a guide. His response was that we already have a full-house. I thought, at first, that he didn't really want to, but then he disclosed to us, that he was with us almost all the time, except when he was getting therapy. I coaxed him and said that being a guide would be just what he needed, so he accepted....doubtfully.
That Saturday, Michael channeled Harry, again, and he seemed to feel the need to tell me ALL the bad things he had done, in his life. Initially, I thought he didn't blow the cover-up of the Black Dahlia murder, because he was afraid of being killed for it. This time he came right out and told me that he ORDERED the cover-up, and that it was HIS idea, for which he was now deeply ashamed.
He also told me that he took part in countless "third degrees", during interrogations... belting suspects into a bloody pulp, to get a "confession" out of them. He also said he was responsible for ORDERING others to do the same thing! It was like he was TRYING to get me to kick him out.
I told him that he helped rescue Betty, and he even took her blows without fighting back. I told him that even though he was a bully, in life, he is truly trying to make amends. He said that he didn't realize what a shit the murderer was, until after Harry himself left this life, and he couldn't get over the shame he felt, of letting this guy go scot free.
I told him he must have been beaten on, as a child and he suddenly bristled with anger at his own father, calling him a "fucking bastard!" I told him he learned how to be a bully, at home, and the LAPD gave him positive reinforcement for his behavior. At this, he suddenly broke down, and flew out of Michael's body. I called to him to come back, and Michael said he was skulking in a corner. I demanded that he come back, and suddenly he WAS back, crying out in agony, "Why do you want somebody like ME around???"
I said "because I do, and you are making amends for what you did. That takes guts!" I then asked him if he wanted a hug and he quickly said "YES!"
I stood up and hugged Michael/Harry, and though he seemed to be comforted, Harry then said "HIT me!"
Of course, hitting Harry would entail me hitting Michael, and I didn't want to hit either of them, and I kept refusing.
He kept insisting, and I got the impression he forgot that he was in someone else's body. Finally, I kept reassuring him , until he calmed down. At last, he seemed to collapse from exhaustion, and what I felt as gratitude, and he left Michael's body.
That night, unbeknownst to Michael and me, he went to Hollywood, CA, with Isabelle and Elizabeth Hutchinson, and Elizabeth's 2 children, to George Reeve's house.
George Reeves was one of the more famous "ghosts" in Hollywood. He was shot to death....murdered, and his unquiet soul had wreaked havok in the house he had lived in, for many years. No one ever stayed long, in his house. Neighbors saw lights turning on and off, in the house, and heard gun shots. The police would arrive and no one would be in the house.....at least on THIS level. Poor George, the former Superman of the 60's TV show, once appeared to the then-current owners of his home, in his Superman costume. It was his way of telling them who he was, and that he wanted help, but they packed up and left, pronto! The bizarre happenings went on, and Reeves became the darling of "Haunted Hollywood" TV productions.
So Harry, Isabelle, Elzabeth H., and her kiddies went to see George, and Harry told us it took him ALL NIGHT to reason with this tortured soul. Harry did all the hard work, like a man on a mission! First he had to work George back into a state of sanity. THEN he had to calm him down and get him ready to cross over into the Light. Since George Reeves always loved children, Elizabeth's kiddies were there to further calm George down, and maybe even make him happy.
Finally, Harry, Isabelle, Elizabeth and kids brought George back to our apartment, in the early evening of the next day.
Michael and I were about to go for a walk, and Michael suddenly said "GEORGE REEVES is here!"
Michael was and is a big fan of George, and had been fascinated by his case, for years.......another LAPD screw-up. Harry had done ALL the grueling work, but it was still up to us to send George over. Which we did. He was ready and willing and walked right through the portal, after thanking us all. Michael was overcome, I was amazed, and we had to sit down for a few minutes, to grasp what had just happened.
I told Harry over and over what a wonderful thing he had done, and that he was a good man, and truly one of us, now.
He said "You don't know how much that means to me!"
He told me he was feeling better about himself, and that I had helped him a lot, the night before.
So.....Detective Sergeant Harry Hansen of the LAPD officially joined the ranks of our guides, that night. He plans on rescuing ALL of George Knowlton's victims who haven't crossed over. I told him we would help all we could.
He recently helped us (along with his other LAPD cohorts),
free ALL the earthbound victims of the Tulsa Race Riots.
Harry is a good man and a wonderful friend and guide. I also had to convince him that he was good-looking, too. He is very sweet and tells me that his old buddy's would never believe he could ever be a poet and a romantic, but he IS, now! He says Sam is continually amazed. He always half-humorously says to me "To protect and Serve"...and he DOES!
Elizabeth Short is a good friend, too. She has learned many things, and she loves both of us. She is finally achieving what she never had in life, and it is about time.
George also stops by. He takes a special interest in Michael, and he, too is continuing an acting career he never was allowed to have, in life.
The End...But NEVER the End
